You can never really prepare for the day when your children reveal that they are facing critical issues involving their sexual identity. You feel as if your world has broken to pieces. I know because I’ve gone through this, and I want to share my story with you.

The vacation week today came to an end; tomorrow we go back to work, but we really enjoyed the time. With the visit of our oldest daughter and her husband we plan an event for each day therefore we enjoy time with the family and thank God for being together. We celebrated Christmas Eve on November 24 (yes we did) with the proper Christmas dinner, and then on Thursday we celebrated Thanksgiving; although every day we give thanks to the Creator. It was beautiful to be able to be together and in harmony, without distinction of color, belief or sexual orientation. These moments together are the memories that we will hold on when we get older. A simple lunch eating pizza or a Mexican dinner; go to the theatre to watch the Hunger Games movie (though do not understand what happens at all), drive within wild animals as if we were in the jungle, or the experience of struggle with the force of the wind as we go "kayak". We give thanks to our God for allowing us to enjoy these moments in family and in love.
